Descriptions:

Christian Education MINISTRY
Division Vice-Chair - Dr. Tamara T. Scott
Interim Dean - Regina A. Gibson
Purpose: Initiate, develop, plan, promote Christian Education programs within the
Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention churches.
​
CHRISTIAN SOCIAL CONCERN MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Minister Irene D. Key
Purpose: To encourage involvement in social action ministries within the
Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention that relates to the total person.
The division shall bring to the attention of the constituency issues of public
importance and social concerns and shall give leadership to the convention in
application of Christian principles to such issues.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY
Division Vice-President- Open

EVANGELISM MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Vacant
Purpose: To plan and promote the work of Evangelism for Michigan Progressive
Baptist Convention and to aid in the development of evangelistic programs in the
local church.

HEALTH MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Sister Elaine Lee
Purpose: The Division of Health Ministries shall be responsible for training,
networking of volunteers in the work of Health Ministry, organizing and
implementing health resources for the Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention
churches and their communities.

HISTORIAN MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Elder Keoshi Gardner
Purpose: Provide Archives for the Convention, its Divisions and constituent churches. Collect and maintain appropriate historical documents of the Convention and constituent churches. Collect and maintain current information relative to the growth and development of the Convention. Maintain a summary of statistical information of the constituent churches. Report annually to the Convention.

MEN’S MINISTRY
Division Vice President - Deacon Kenneth Curry
Purpose: The purpose of the Division of Men's Work is to enlist men in a life of
effective Christian service in the local church, convention and community.
​
MINISTER'S COUNCIL MINISTRY
Division Vice-President - Rev. Dr. Michael T. Scott
Purpose: The Ministers' Council shall be a ministry that will meet for a purpose of promoting the
spiritual welfare of all churches and endeavors of the Convention. The Ministers' Council consist of Retired MPBC Pastors and the Convention Musicians

MISSIONS MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Rev. Earline Vaughn
Purpose: The division purpose is to participate with other Christian
organizations in mission work: and to assist our Michigan Progressive Baptist
Convention Churches in the development and growth of mission work: to minister
to the spiritual and physical needs of our fellowman: and to provide volunteer
service where needed: to help improve the quality of life for those who are
destitute.

STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Sister Barbara Simmons-Smith
Purpose: To administer the property, finances and other temporal affairs of the
Convention: consider request for capital funds and make
recommendations concerning the same: prepare and submit proposed
annual budget: maintain care and custody of all book's accounts and
records of the convention.

USHER'S MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Trustee Deborah Boatner,
Purpose: The Division of the Ushers shall be responsible for working with inspiring and challenging the Ushers of Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention Churches to support the objectives of the convention to serve at its programs.
WOMEN'S MINISTRY
Division Vice-President: Sister Pamela Granberry
Purpose: The division of Women shall develop and promote programs among Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention women that make their witness for Christ purposeful and progressive.

YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
Division Vice-Presidents: Minister Maisha Lindsey and Pastor C. J. Sampson
Purpose: To build Christian leaders. To provide a mechanism for Christian youth to fellowship and encourage one another in Christ. To train youth how to conduct business meetings using Robert Rules of Order. To raise Christian awareness of peers. To maintain a high level of commitment and faithful dedication.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: Strive toward 100% participation from all churches. To establish and develop a community outreach project. Develop effective networking of information concerns. Publish a youth newsletter.
